The over whelming response from students and appreciation received from teachers on the publication of my first effort on Inorganic Chemistry has induced me to write on the subject of Organic Chemistry. This book is divided into ten chapters, each chapter is further divided into sections and sub-sections to facilitate the inter relationship of topics. This book on Organic Chemistry is primarily meant to serve as a text book for B.Sc. General and Honours students and also helpful for M.Sc. Chemical Engineering & other professional studies. The objective is to provide the students with comprehensive treatment of the subject on modern lines. It gives me a heartfelt pleasure to express my gratitude to those learned seniors / colleagues for their valuable suggestions and able guidance who helped me in the preparation of this text book.
